Educators and parents are pleased the Legislature approved $800 million in new revenue, which will help protect programs such as all-day kindergarten and smaller class sizes for our youngest students.
Even with new revenue, Washington’s schools and colleges suffered large cuts in state funding, which will affect our students this fall. Without new revenue, though, the cuts would have been even worse, and our students would have suffered even more. Public education is an important investment in our state’s economy and our students’ futures.
